Dear Andre,
I think your sons are exceptionally pleasant young lads and it was great to see how keen they are. I really enjoyed my time with you and cant wait to be back!
I can imagine them running their own business one day and I hope they may have learned a little from me about spinning.
Please give them my best wishes and I hope they have caught some more 'karang'.
Maybe I will be able to visit Praslin again one day and fish with you all again.
Tell the boys to let me know how their fishing goes.
Best wishes,
Alan Vaughan

Sigh, back to Jozi. The inevitable downer following a week of bicycling adventures (Praslin's ocean drive ), fun on boats, exotic sun downers & making new friends in paradise. Thanks Andre & Tracey d'Offay for taking us from fishing the high seas to sipping cocktails in the local pool bar - Sean's finally recovering...
We will definitely be coming back to you!
We will definitely be coming back to you!

Only thing missing was the ability to fly fishing. Even in Germany we had informed us on the Internet about the events on the ground and have come across Andre. Email contact was made quickly and on Day 2 we already have in our hotel met us then.
We had landed a stroke of luck.
He and his son Greg also fish with the fly. Both know the fishing grounds around the island very well and you are with them in the best hands. You can find Andre on his website http://www.fishpraslin.com
He not only offers boat trips for fishing but also to visit the other islands for snorkeling and watching the giant tortoises. Great advantage, you can even put together your island tours. Andre is very easy there.
With Andre from the boat I caught some nice fish Queen, a yellow trevally, bonito, smaller Bluefin trevally and some minor different Jacks. Class 8 all together with rods and 8-9.
Once we saw a stately GT (Giant Trevally) directly under our boat in about 6m depth, estimated at around 20? 25kg. But he did not want to take my fly. Perhaps this was better for my rod, the 12 was as always with such experiences in our beautiful apartment in the corner.
Furthermore, I could make a great Milkfish, but after cranking searched the width. Also a beautiful Bluefin Trevally (about 8kg) where I do not even occurred to him to present the fly, I could see at one of the numerous small coral reefs. He moved too quickly past me. But here it was again great encounters with the fish, even if only with the eyes.
Greg together we pursued once a lot of Mackerel which was probably being chased by larger predators.
But we managed not to seek the swarm to start a trial with the fly rod. The fish were just too quick on the run. Escape or be eaten was the motto here.
Summing up, I can in good faith to assure that it is definitely worth the fly rod or spinning rod with but also to refer to the Seychelles. You start definitely fish of various species. And with Andre's support you start with security and one or the other dream fish.
I also was not the last time in the Seychelles. To spend a relaxing holiday at A, B to settle with some fish still.
In my mind I'm already back. New fly patterns and lines, rods, reels.
We'll be back and will still spend many hours at sea with Andre and Greg.
Thank you both and your crew for an unforgettable holiday.

We both had the most enjoyable morning fishing with Greg and Chris. The skills shown in trawling with seven lines in the water and often simultaneous hook ups were mighty impressive. Our holiday fitness was certainly tested when reeling those big wahoos in!!
It was the highlight of our trip, and you will surely be hearing back from us when we are next in the Seychelles.
Happy new year!
